The Group

Sudhir Forgings is the youngest and most modern constituent of the renowned Garg Group of Companies based at Ludhiana (Northern India) having an annual turnover of USD 150 million. The Group is engaged in activities like Steel Rolling, Heavy & Small Castings, Rough & Machined Forgings, Spinning and Garment-making. It was founded in 1975 by Late Mr. D.P. Garg and Mr. J.C. Garg. -Mr. J.C. Garg with his experience of more than 3 decades in Steel Industry, is an institution in himself. -Under his able guidance, the Group is scaling new heights and according to him, it is an unending race. He says - “He is like a marathon runner, who never loses sight of his ultimate goal”. With his consistent efforts and bringing in latest technology coupled with innovations, Garg Group, by now, is a name to reckon with.

The Garg Group starting with a Steel Rolling Mill about three and a half decades ago, entered new fields and excelled itself in Heavy & Small Castings, Rough & Machined Forgings, Spinning and Garment-making. By now, it has earned unmatched reputation at national and international levels. -It is always in touch with tomorrow and is rapidly moving towards its goal to be a model conglomerate guiding others along the same path.

The Company

The globalization of virtually every major industry and opening up of the Indian economy has dramatically altered the industrial scenario, as also the rules of competition. Having successfully carved out a niche for itself on the Indian industrial horizon, Garg Group, in the year 2003, decided to modernize its existing manufacturing units and to add a new Forging Unit with latest Plant & Machinery. The responsibility for accomplishing this gigantic task was assigned to Mr. Dhruv Garg, a young, intelligent and dynamic graduate in Management, to be assisted by a team of technocrats and professionals having years of elaborated experience in their respective fields. Sudhir Forgings Pvt. Ltd. was the name given to the Forging Unit, which was also to be established in Ludhiana. The task was successfully completed in 2005 and the new unit started producing forged components for automobile application, Tractor & Farm Equipment, Carbon Steel Flanges, Scaffolding & Formwork Accessories, Truck / Bus Body Parts, Fasteners and other light engineering items. It has already entered the export field and is exporting its products to the U.S.A., Latin America, Europe and some other parts of the globe.

The unit is equipped with 5 Drop Hammers, an Integrated Tool Room, a well furnished laboratory, a Machine Shop with conventional and CNC machines and a Standard Room with latest apparatus to ensure conformity of standards right from the incoming raw material stage to the outgoing finished products. To ensure right structural strength and other physical properties, the unit is provided with Induction as well as Thermal Heat Treatment Furnaces. It also has an automatic paint line to ensure consistent and better finish of the painted products.

The next phase of company’s expansion comprises of a 6.3 T Pneumatic Hammer, some more CNC Milling Machines and Turning Lathes. A Zinc Plating & Galvanizing Shop is also on the cards. This will further strengthen its capabilities and add to the efficiency.

While the unit is already certified under ISO 9001-2008 by BSI, steps are a foot to take TS 16949 certification by May, 2009. Certification under PED leading to CE Marking will be achieved by April, 2009.

Altogether, Sudhir Forgings has plans to go beyond competition by ensuring zero-defect products with the view to setting up new benchmarks in its growth and excellence.
